NitraStrate is a revolutionary substrate that has been created to ensure a crystal clear tank with minimal water changes. Can be used in addition to or in place of existing substrates. Anaerobic colonization occurs inside each NitraStrate particle and remains even when the substrate is allowed to dry.

NitraStrate are not ordinary stone pebbles or plastic beads. It is a totally porous special polymer bead that allows nitrate laden water to slowly saturate the NitraStrate particles. The anaerobic bacteria within the bead consume the nitrates to create compounds which, when they emerge, oxidize and release harmless Nitrogen gas.
